How do I practice in a way that is sustainable — emotionally, physically, spiritually?

Why 1:1 Matriarch Mentorship ?
This four-month container is for doulas who need personalized, attuned guidance - a place where your lived experiences can be spoken aloud, metabolized, and woven into wisdom.
This is not supervision.
It is not evaluation.
It is not business coaching.
It is elder-guided mentorship rooted in presence, nervous system awareness, and respect for the complexity of birth work.

Embodied intuition and discernment at births
Nervous system regulation for doulas
Navigating complex birth dynamics and power
Integration of difficult or unresolved birth experiences
Boundaries, sustainability, and self-trust
Identity shifts as a birthworker
Listening for what is asking to evolve in your practice
The work unfolds in response to you — not a preset curriculum.
How We Work Together
This mentorship is slow, relational, and responsive.
The 4-month container includes:
Biweekly 1:1 mentorship sessions (8 total)
Nervous-system-aware and somatic practices
Case reflection and lived experience integration
Space for intuitive inquiry and honest dialogue
Optional reflection prompts between sessions
Optional support via text during births (Limited)
Practical tools, worksheets and handouts for you and your clients
Sessions are held in a way that prioritizes safety, pacing, and depth.

About Your Mentor
Gabe Lazarus is a holistic birth educator, doula, and mentor offering nervous-system-aware, embodied support for birthworkers.
With over a decade of experience attending births across settings, Gabe’s mentorship is shaped by lived practice, education, somatic awareness, intuition, and ancestral wisdom. Her approach is relational, steady, and honest — grounded in the belief that how we practice matters as much as what we know.
